Opportunities through Community…this is our theme for 2025! Throughout the year, you will learn how people supported by Black Hills Works are connected to our community through the opportunities you make possible. These stories will include the 24 honorees that will be celebrated at our Annual Recognition Gala.
Meet Max! He grew up on a farm, then lived in Watertown, and moved to Rapid City in 2021 to participate in Black Hills Works. He is involved in residential programming and Special Olympics bowling.
People who are important to you: My cousin Jim is very important to me. I call him often. I am also good friends with my housemate Kathy, and my staff are important to me.
What makes you happy: Everything makes me happy. I really enjoy being with people.
What you want people to know about you: I am a helper and have a good sense of humor.
Favorite things: Coke, tea, and John Deere. I love the customized cup holder and straw that the Black Hills Works Assistive Technology team designed and 3D printed for me.
