Special Olympics - The Rapid City Storm

The Rapid City Storm is one of many Special Olympics delegations throughout the state that endorses the overall mission, vision, and philosophy of Special Olympics South Dakota.

We provide people with disabilities the ability to participate in year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

The Rapid City Storm encourages athletes and unified partners to participate in the following local and state Special Olympic events: bowling, basketball, cheerleading, track and field, swimming, volleyball, soccer skills, powerlifting, softball, bocce ball, and equestrian.

If you are interested in learning about how to become an athlete, unified partner, coach, or volunteer for the Rapid City Storm, contact the Head of Delegation at Black Hills Works.
