Health & Fitness

Our newly renovated fitness center at the Learning Institute offers the people we support the opportunity to get moving and exercising. The fitness center has a variety of state-of-the-art equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, and strength training equipment.

The Learning Institute is also home to the Legends Ride Gymnasium that is used for basketball, skills competitions, walking, dance exercises, yoga, and more. Outside of the Learning Institute, there is space for walking, biking, gardening, and playing bocce ball.

Smaller fitness areas are also available at our Plant Street location. Physical activities are encouraged through participation in Special Olympics, hiking, walking, disc golf, bowling, running, and more.

Nutrition is also encouraged through cooking classes and healthy meals. Several of our homes participate in My25, a subscription-based program designed to help people with disabilities, their families, and staff develop healthy practices.
