The Rapid City Storm at Black Hills Works is one of many Special Olympics delegations throughout the state that endorses the overall mission, vision, and philosophy of Special Olympics South Dakota.
We provide people with disabilities with the ability to participate in year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in sharing gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The Rapid City Storm encourages athletes and unified partners to participate in the following local and state Special Olympic events: bowling, basketball, cheerleading, track and field, swimming, softball, bocce ball, and equestrian. Events are listed on our events calendar.
If you are interested in learning about how to become an athlete, unified partner, coach, or volunteer for the Rapid City Storm, contact the Head of Delegation at 605-343-4550.
