We are honored to recognize the Gail and Delores Miller Foundation, managed by the South Dakota Community Foundation, for its generous support of Black Hills Works’ employment programs. In the last five years, their grants have made so much possible! With their help, we have expanded several employment opportunities for our participants:
- Commercial laundry equipment, leading to a laundry contract with Ellsworth AFB
- Plumbing and electrical improvements at Unique Auto and Woodworks
- Vehicles to transport our custodial crews and community employment participants
- Creation of mock hotel rooms and retail work environments for participants to build employment skills
- Expansion of the Suzie Cappa Art Center
Most recently, they have funded a new vocational exploration and training program for our participants.
The legacy of Gail and Delores Miller has impacted hundreds of individuals at Black Hills Works. We are incredibly thankful for their foresight in establishing a granting foundation, and to the South Dakota Community Foundation for managing the Miller’s legacy. Thank you!
