Foundation

Established in 1982, the Black Hills Works Foundation has become a dynamic, diverse office, dedicated to ensuring that the comprehensive quality services provided by Black Hills Works remain available to the people we support, now and into the future.

To enrich the lives of people with disabilities, we develop resources, create awareness, provide advocacy, engage supporters, and manage assets to support our priorities.

Led by Dr. Andrea Serna, this small group of forward-thinking professionals strives to make a difference every day by cultivating a spirit of gratitude, developing community awareness around the needs of Black Hills Works, and creating top-notch marketing materials for the agency.

Our Team

The Foundation team is an eclectic group of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, from higher education to human services to commercial design. Each one comes equipped with a tool belt of knowledge and experience that aligns perfectly within the mission of the Foundation.

Our Events

The Black Hills Works Foundation organizes two annual fundraising events annually-the Putt-N-Pub and the Annual Recognition Gala. Funds raised from these events go to support the programming and operational needs of Black Hills Works.

Putt-n-Pub

Putt your way through downtown Rapid City and support adults with disabilities. The Putt-n-Pub takes your regular old pub crawl and combines it with mini-golf to make a fun and exciting social event. Teams of four compete in a mini-golf tournament where you will be challenged by holes uniquely designed by each host location. Awards are given for great scores, not-so-great scores, and of course….costumes! This event is typically held the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. Join us on March 2, 2024 for our 10th Annual Putt-n-Pub event!

Annual Recognition Gala

The Annual Recognition Gala is a time to honor and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of the people we support. It is also a time to honor and celebrate YOU, our amazing community, that help make dreams come true for not only the four honorees, but for the over 600 people we support. Join us at LaCroix Hall at The Monument for an elegant evening to see what you have helped make possible! Get your tickets today at www.blackhillsworks.org/gala. Save the date for October 18, 2024!
