Help Us Find Homes

Finding safe, affordable housing is one of the biggest challenges facing many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community. At Black Hills Works, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live as independently as possible, but that opportunity often begins with access to housing.

We are seeking housing opportunities in the Rapid City area for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, particularly in complexes with multiple units available. Accessible units, locations near transit routes, and proximity to community resources are especially valuable.

Housing plays an important role in helping people build independence, maintain employment, stay connected to their community, and create stability in their daily lives. As housing options become more limited, finding opportunities for the people we support becomes increasingly difficult.

Black Hills Works works closely with tenants and property partners to help create successful housing experiences. Property owners benefit from consistent rent payments, long-term tenancy, dedicated support systems, and a designated point of contact for communication and problem-solving. Staff are available to provide support, assist with concerns, and help ensure positive outcomes for everyone involved.

We know that housing opportunities are often found through community connections. You may own property, know someone with available units, or have connections within the housing community. Every conversation has the potential to create new opportunities.

If you would like to learn more or discuss potential housing opportunities, please contact Diane Flahaven-Neu, Director of Affordable Housing, at 605-718-6249 or [email protected].

Together, we can help create more housing opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Rapid City.
