At Black Hills Works, strong partnerships help create lasting opportunities. This month, we’re recognizing BankWest for their role in bringing new housing opportunities to life through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund.
Through this partnership, Black Hills Works received a $35,000 Member Impact Fund award, supporting the construction of a new state-of-the-art duplex designed for individuals with higher support needs.
This duplex will provide housing for eight individuals, with thoughtful features that support independence while ensuring safety and care. The home will include adaptations such as ceiling lifts, built-in technologies, and space for staff to be available around the clock—creating an environment where individuals can live with greater comfort and stability.
Construction is already underway, with completion anticipated this spring.
This project is part of a broader effort to expand housing options that support independence, privacy, and long-term stability. As shared in a recent update, new community homes and innovative housing models are helping ensure people have a place that truly feels like home—today and into the future.
